🚨 Illegal E-Bike Use – One Seized, Offender Identified | Wantage NHPT 🚨

Yesterday, 29/08, officers from the Wantage Neighbourhood Policing Team saw a group of youths riding illegally modified electric bikes — in the middle of the road, without helmets, and at high speeds.
When requested to stop, the riders made off.

⚠️ Reminder: E-bikes that exceed legal speed limits are classed as motor vehicles. That means:
•    Riders need a licence, insurance, and MOT
•    Failing to stop for police is treated the same as in a car

These individuals put themselves and others at serious risk.
Thanks to quick action by our team, one bike was seized, and another rider has been identified and will be dealt with.
